TUITION NOTE: Costs for the Wintersession are billed separately and are not included in the block-price tuition charged for the fall and spring semesters. This means you will see tuition charges in two semesters: for the Wintersession and for the Spring semester.

TCU offers an undergraduate Wintersession to help students maintain progress towards their degree. It’s a great opportunity to catch up, stay on track or move ahead!

Wintersession takes place between Fall and Spring semesters.

The Wintersession will emphasize courses that provide the most benefit to a path to graduation. For example, most Wintersession classes will:

  • Meet one or more core requirements.
  • Provide an opportunity to repeat or re-enroll in courses that have high drop/fail/withdraw rates.
  • Be high-demand classes required by colleges for students in certain majors to progress.

All classes will be delivered online, with 80-100% synchronous online engagement, to give students more interaction with faculty. All instructors have completed eFaculty certification and have experience teaching online.  Individual class meeting times and days are set by the instructor.

Registration for the Wintersession runs concurrently with Spring 2024 registration, beginning November 8. Classes are posted at classes.tcu.edu.  Students may enroll for a maximum of 4 hours.

Costs for the Wintersession are not included in the block-price tuition charged for the fall and spring semesters. Tuition is charged on a per credit hour basis at $1,985.00 per hour.  Classes will range from 1 to 3 credit hours.  A 3-hour class will have a tuition charge of $5,955.00.

A limited amount of need-based assistance is available for those that qualify. Student loans may also be an option.  To apply, please submit the Wintersession Aid Application available in the student portal at my.tcu.edu.  The aid app is located under “Financial Aid” > “Financial Aid Year 2023-2024” > “My Financial Aid.”  A completed CSS Profile must also be on file.

Aid for the Wintersession is posted under the spring semester, and disbursement will begin on January 8, 2024.
