Cap and Gown

Academic regalia is rented, unless purchased by the individual. Order your cap and gowns by logging on my.tcu.edu, student center page, Diploma/Cap Gown Ordering. Pick up cap and gown: Wednesday December 18, 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., Thursday December 19, 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. or Friday December 20, 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., at The Campus Store

Number Card

Each degree candidate must have a number card for the processional. Bring the card you receive via your email. If you misplace it, a replacement can be obtained at the Registrar's Table just before the Class assembles.

When and Where to Assemble

All degree candidates will line up near the tunnel entrance at the north end of the Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena at least 45 minutes before commencement.


8:15 a.m. for the 9:00 a.m. ceremony

1:15 p.m. for the 2:00 p.m. ceremony

Graduates only should enter from Frog Alley through Gate 10 of Schollmair Arena. Remember to bring your walk-number card with you.

Assemble in cap and gown carrying your walk-number card that indicates your place in line. Do not bring purses, cell phones or other personal items.

As Commencement is a formal academic ceremony, we recommend that candidates dress appropriately. Comfortable business attire is recommended.



Tickets are not required, each degree candidate may invite an unlimited number of guests. There is no reserved seating.

Special Arrangements

If you need a sign language interpreter, please call (817) 257-7802 at least 10 days prior to Commencement to make those arrangements.


Latin Honors are printed on the diploma. All honors are announced from the podium and are printed in the program. There are no cords for Latin Honors. Some organizations provide Honor Cords to wear with the Gown, contact your organization for this information.


Must provide name, student ID number, degree information and a permanent mailing address. Diplomas will be mailed if they are not picked up from the Registrar's Office.
